having grown a little frustrated with squarespace v6, I started looking for a new hosting service for things.<aside>mainly the lack of a reasonable mobile posting option.</aside>

several times over the last year or so I’d heard of Jekyll, a static page generator that uses markdown files to power html files. knowing that github will host these types of sites for no cost got me interested enough to try it out.
